Together they slow breathing, on top of methadone's long, unfelt tail. Do not combine, especially early in methadone treatment.
Additive respiratory depression against methadone's long, invisible tail. The combination is well documented in methadone-treatment mortality data and is worst in the induction period.
The risk here is to the body — breathing, heart, temperature or organs. Set limits before you start, because this kind of harm does not announce itself in time to react.
