The riskiest kratom combination: together they get past kratom's ceiling on slowed breathing, and kratom can peak late. Do not combine.
The highest-risk kratom combination, ahead of alcohol. Benzodiazepines suppress breathing through GABA-A while kratom works the opioid receptor, and the two together comfortably clear kratom's partial-agonist ceiling. Kratom's long, uneven absorption means the peak can land well after you have stopped paying attention to it.
The risk here is to the body — breathing, heart, temperature or organs. Set limits before you start, because this kind of harm does not announce itself in time to react.
