The stimulant hides how much the opioid is slowing you; if it wears off first, breathing can stop. Take less of each than usual, do not use alone, and keep naloxone nearby.
Stimulants increase respiration rate, which can allow for a higher dose of opiates normal . If the stimulant wears off first then the opiate may overcome the individual and cause respiratory arrest.
The risk here is to the body — breathing, heart, temperature or organs. Set limits before you start, because this kind of harm does not announce itself in time to react.
